Diversity on the River Event: Playing on the James
Aug 2 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

A fun day for youths to explore safely playing on the river by sampling kayaking and learning about the James River with certified instructors. For ages 12-17. Registration is required. Sponsored by the James River Advisory Council and Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation.

James River Story Time
Aug 12 @ 10:30 am – 11:15 am

This early literacy story time focuses on rivers, lakes and other bodies of water. Hear stories, sing songs and make a craft. Ages 5 and under.

20th Annual James River Regional Cleanup
Sep 14 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

The cleanup is a cooperative, regional event spanning more than 75 miles of the James River. Powerboats, paddle craft, hikers, waders and sorters are needed. Register online for one of these locations:

James River Preschool Story Time

Join us as we share stories, songs and activities focused on water and the James River. Children will decorate their own fish magnet to take home. Designed for children ages 3-5 with an adult.
