Mark your calendars for the 24th celebration of the James River Parade of Lights. Each year, boaters decorate their vessels and converge on the James River for a boat parade marking the festive holiday season. Boaters must register their boats to participate in the parade.

Richmond: Libby Hill Park
Corner of 28th and East Franklin streets
Entertainment begins at 4:30 p.m. Countdown to boat illumination at 6 p.m.
Free hamburgers and hot dogs, hot chocolate and apple cider. Fire pit and music.
Henrico County: Osborne Park and Boat Landing
9530 Osborne Turnpike
Entertainment begins at 4 p.m. Parade viewing 7-7:30 p.m.
Santa, Magician and Juggler Jonathan Austin, bonfire, food concession and music.
The Toy Parade sponsored by the Battlefield Ruritans precedes the boat parade and begins at 3 pm. The Toy Parade begins at River Bend Road, off Osborne, and will end at Osborne Park.
Chesterfield County: Henricus Historical Park
Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. Parade viewing 7:45-8 p.m.
Park at Thomas Dale High School, 3626 W. Hundred Road, Chester. FREE shuttle transportation 5-7 p.m.
Santa, face-painting, balloon animals, fire pit, food concession and band.
